Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2, 2026
These terms apply to the Game Breaker desktop app, its free trial and paid activations, and the gamebreak.dev website and server (together, “Game Breaker”). By installing or using Game Breaker you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use Game Breaker. How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.
1. What Game Breaker is
Game Breaker is a Steam patcher and game manager for your own computer: it patches the Steam client on that computer and manages the games and tools you choose to add. Game Breaker is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation or Steam, or by the makers of any game.
2. Your responsibility
You are responsible for how you use Game Breaker, and for following the laws that apply to you and the terms of the services and software you use it with, including the Steam Subscriber Agreement and the licence of each game. Use Game Breaker only where that is allowed. Patching Steam or games can break them, can cause Steam to show errors, and can have consequences for your Steam account; you accept those risks.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Game Breaker, and old enough to make purchases where you live (or have a parent or guardian’s permission) to buy an activation.
4. Activation
- Game Breaker must be activated before it can be used. Activation is tied to one computer, identified by its Machine HWID, which is calculated from that computer’s hardware.
- A paid activation is lifetime for that computer: it has no expiry and no limit on games. Replacing hardware can change the HWID; a changed HWID, or another computer, needs a new activation.
- Activations are personal and can’t be sold, transferred or shared.
5. Free trial
- The free trial requires signing in with Google, and each computer and each Google account can have one trial.
- The trial includes up to 2 games. Fixes and Extras are not included. Games added during the trial keep working afterwards, within these terms.
- Trying to get more than one trial — for example by changing or disguising your hardware identifiers, or using several Google accounts — is not allowed, and ends the trial.
- We may change or end the free trial offer at any time.
6. Payments and refunds
- Prices are shown before you pay and depend on the kind of device (for example a PC, a Windows handheld, or a Steam Deck).
- A paid computer gets a code for 10% off activating one other computer. Each code works once, not on the computer it came from, has no cash value and may not be sold. We may change or end this offer at any time; codes already issued stay valid unless they are misused.
- Payments are processed by our payment gateway, on its own page. Payments in cryptocurrency can’t be reversed by us once sent.
- An activation starts once the gateway confirms your payment. If a payment can’t be applied — for example it was made for a computer that had been deactivated, or the same computer was paid for twice — contact Support and we will refund it.
- If a payment is reversed after it was confirmed (for example by a blockchain reorganisation), the activation it paid for is removed until it is paid again.
7. What you must not do
- Get around, disable or tamper with activation, the free trial’s limits, or HWID checks, including by spoofing hardware identifiers.
- Resell Game Breaker, activations, or access to our server.
- Attack, overload, scrape or probe our website, server or payment pages, or use them in a way that harms other users.
- Use Game Breaker’s support channels to harass anyone.
8. Suspension
We may deactivate a computer, end a trial, or refuse service if these terms are broken, if a payment is reversed, or to protect Game Breaker and its users. Where a paid activation is deactivated without the terms being broken, we will refund it.
9. Third-party content
Some files and tools that Game Breaker downloads or links to come from third parties. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for them. Security software sometimes flags patching tools as harmful; decide for yourself whether to allow them.
10. Changes and availability
Game Breaker updates itself, and features may change, move or be removed. We aim to keep the server running but can’t promise it will always be available. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use Game Breaker after a change means you accept it.
11. No warranty
Game Breaker is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will work with every game or Steam version, be error-free, or meet your needs.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss — including loss of data, games, save files or access to any account — arising from your use of Game Breaker. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the activation the claim concerns.
13. Contact
